Rodents can damage your home
Rats and mice are dangerous, parasitic animals that contaminate our food and start fires in our homes.
Rats and mice are omnivorous scavengers, they are very agile and are mainly nocturnal choosing to shelter and nest inside our homes and offices which provide them access to security, food and water.
They are a major source of disease, credited with spreading the ‘Black death’ (bubonic plague) in the Middle Ages that cost millions of human lives.
Rodent Catchers is the only pest control service that uses a 100% natural
child and pet safe repellant.

Our industry leading, natural rodent repellant contains:
Active ingredients:
- Peppermint Oil 5% (50ml per Liter)
- Sucrose Octa-Acetate (1.5g/Kg)
- Spearmint Oil 5% (50ml per Liter)
- Denatonium Benzoate (0.1g/Kg)
- Lemongrass Oil 2.5% (25ml per Liter)
- Aluminium Ammonium Sulphate (997.3g/Kg)
The Rodent Repellent is applied by our licensed technicians as per the Australian Standards and is guaranteed to stop invading rodents in their tracks. It is completely safe to be used both internally and externally and is designed to be used in both commercial and domestic settings.
The formulation contains no poisons, it is highly effective, completely safe and 100% biodegradable. It is manufactured with Eco-friendly ingredients and is safe for use in sensitive areas such as aged care facilities, medical and child care centres and is even safe around your family and pets!
The Repellent incorporates a proprietary sticking agent technology that ensures adhesion of the product to treated areas, protecting the surfaces for longer and dramatically increasing its effectiveness.
This unique repellent acts on the smell and taste senses of rats entering the treated area by creating a feeling within the animal that the area is unsafe and threatening. This triggers the animals natural fear response causing them to flee.
The chemical repels them without harming them and the feeling disappears when they move away, but repeated exposure to the treated area creates a lasting learned response, and they stay away.
This product can be safely used in factories, warehouses, commercial kitchens, schools, aged cage facilities, in cabinets, closets, decks, sheds, ceiling spaces, sub floors, patios, garbage bins, vegetable gardens, flower beds and anywhere else rodents are a nuisance
Bait boxes are a safe way to lure rodents outside of your home, and keep them out of your roof.

Rodent Catchers utilizes tamper proof bait stations to help treat rodents. Rodent Bait Stations are strong, lockable plastic boxes that are designed to safely house rodent baits. The bait inside the box is secured on a metal retaining rod that prevents it from being removed or accidently shaken loose.
Protected from the elements the rodenticide is encased within a walled compartment that allows rodents to enter the device to feed whilst excluding all other non-target animals including humans and pets.
The stations are available in both plastic and metal and are safe to use even in areas where children or pets may be present. The rodenticide contained within the device is only accessible to rats and will cause no harm to others.
These products undergo rigorous testing to ensure they can offer safe and effective protection against all species of rodents. All bait stations are fixed in registered locations and are fitted with a distinctive WARNING label that clearly identifies their function and their contents.
One primary disadvantage to bait stations has always been that there was never any guarantee the rodents would enter them during their travels. Rodents are naturally anxious and phobic creatures, so even if the stations are placed in an area of high rodent activity, they may not risk venturing inside.
Rats and mice will often avoid a bait station if they sense a strange taste or scent. It is for this reason that we make use of a second specially formulated attractant, that is directly applied to the rodent bait and applied to the inside of the station itself.
This product will not attract new activity, but it will lure the current population towards our stations making the baits inside them irresistible.
If you are treating a sensitive area or have young children or pets, a bait station is a safe alternative to pesticide dusts or other exposed toxic treatments.
Poison dust treatments will leave residues behind that can be dangerous to non-target animals and humans, whereas in a bait station the poison is solid and is safely contained.
Bait – take care who you kill.

Rat and mice poisons known as rodenticides are a convenient and effective way to control pest rodents. These are the type of products you can purchase readily from Bunnings or Woolworths. However, rodenticides can also harm our children, wildlife and domestic pets as a result of direct ingestion or from secondary poisoning.
Australian birds of prey such as owls, hawks, and eagles as well as many other categories of native wildlife can accidently take up harmful and often lethal doses of rodenticides.
Anticoagulant rodenticides cause an animal to die by excessive bleeding. They are effective at killing rodents, but other animals may also be attracted to these baits. Rodents form part of a natural food chain that plays an important role for many other species. Poisoned rodents can often take several days to die from this method of control and native animals may accidentally feed on dead or easy to capture dying rodents.
We have the solution!
You can be assured that we have the health and safety of your family, your pets, and all native wildlife top of mind. This is why Rodent Catchers only ever use low mammalian toxicity First Generation baits.
Anticoagulant rodenticides can be divided into two classes:
Multi dose, First Generation Rodenticides containing the active ingredients Warfarin and Coumatetralyl (e.g., in Racumin).
-or-
Single dose Second Generation Rodenticides containing the actives ingredients Brodifacoum (most Ratsak brands), Bromadialone (some Ratsak products) and Difenacoum (Talon, Mortein, Ratsak Fast Action, Pestoff Rodent Bait 20R, Klerat).
The reason we use multi-dose First generation baits, and not the more commonly used Second Generation single feed system is that with single feed baiting there is a greater risk of secondary poisoning due to the baits highly toxic nature. Incidental secondary poisoning occurs when non target animals consume rodents that have a high amount of undigested poison in their system and the poison is then passed on to them through these poisoned pests.
First generation rodenticides work more slowly and break down more quickly, this lessens the cumulative build-up of toxin at any one period of time in the target animal’s blood stream, so lethal dose levels are present. Domestic pets, Owls and other wildlife are very unlikely to die from ingesting First generation products.
Single dose Second Generation rodenticides should be avoided at all costs!
Are rodent tracking powders dangerous?

Tracking powder is a powerful and effective contact killer that is used in the management and control of rodents. The powder contains a toxic poison mixed with special carriers that allow it to adhere to the rodent’s fur and paws.
Tracking powder remains on the rodents’ feet and fur and is only ingested when the rodent grooms itself, (unlike traditional rodent baits which are ingested by the rodent immediately). Ideally tracking powders are placed in areas accessible to rodents, but inaccessible to all non-target species (humans, pets, domestic animals, and wildlife).
This rodent treatment method is great in theory, but the trouble with rats and mice is that they do not stay put. They are very mobile nocturnal creatures that forage around the house at night in search of food scraps.
Also, the Rodents do not die immediately after ingesting the powder and may wander around, covered in powder for days making containment of the powder virtually impossible.
Tracking powder is insoluble in water which prolongs its effects potentially allowing the rodent to spread it onto any surface it comes into contact with. This may include kitchen bench-tops and cupboards, children’s toys, pet food bowls, fruit bowls, bedding and clothing, basically wherever the contaminated rodent chooses travel.
Because of the hazards associated with these products, we do not recommend the use of tracking powders in drafty locations such as ceiling spaces, subfloors, outdoors or anywhere else that may cause it to become airborne.
